HCII is one of the largest HCI conferences, which this year (10 – 14. Jul. 2017) took place in Vancouver, Canada. The conference location was right on the waterfront with a spectacular view of the harbour. The conference included 1,228 papers (with an acceptance rate of 28%). ZSI presented a paper on user experiences around semantic analysis, part of the learning analytics work in EmployID.
The conference is dedicated specifically to workplace learning and attracts delegates from all over the world.
In our paper we address current issues PES organisations in Europe are facing and how we plan to offer facilitation support for their professional identity transformation phases. One focus of the paper is on the contextual exploration that is currently taking place in the project and how contextual challenges have to be considered for the implementation of learning facilitation processes.
Delegates presenting implementations of eLearning in other professional contexts, especially from traditional industries, encountered similar challenges.
The presentation slides are now available at Slideshare: http://www.slideshare.net/barbarak/learning-innovation-in-public-employment-services
The EmployID concept will be presented at the ICELW 2014 Conference. An abstract has been accepted and now a full paper version is under revision. The paper discusses the main concepts of professional identity transformation and facilitation of learning processes that are related to this process. In a first phase of contextual exploration the complexity of design challenges has started to reveal.
